so i just ran some benchmarks to see what kinda performance i would get with the xtreme-G drivers and i was very impressed to say the least!
this is without any over clocks and without the xtreme-g drivers
(i over clocked cpu slightly to get ram at right speed)
http://img.techpowerup.org/080402/benchmark no oc.jpg
here is with the new xtreme-g drivers
the cpu is actually clocked lower and still got better score! :rockout:
http://img.techpowerup.org/080402/benchmark exteme-g no oc.jpg
and here is the xg with i little more of an oc, not a max oc but its close to what i use for crysis, sry about the ss forgot to change cpu-s to show mem speed but it was at 488@5-5-5-15

I know. Still one hell of a score. What's really interesting is that I am right now having a hard time breaking 6k. I can get just a little past 5.9, but 6 is a no go.

yeah prob the celeron, I get 18669 on my setup with the e8400 clocked to 4.299ghz but O spent wayyyy to much on my pc especially because stuff keeps screwing up!!!

Actually, the proc really ain't half bad. Well for the price it definitely isn't.

yes they are cheap but are considered to be intels low end proc
with the system you have you could easily hit 8 or 9k with a better proc

8 or 9k?! You realise I am running a single 8600GT?
jbunch07
04-03-2008, 05:29 AM
yea im tellin you man that celeron is a real bottleneck for you!
and that a really nice mobo if i where u i would look into getting a q6600 and some good cooling and you would do it no prob!
edit: well now that i think about it it may be easier if you oc your card or vmod it then you could do it for sure

Just for a 3dmark score. I barely game. Altho I have been contemplating an e8200 ....
OH btw here's my compare link:

Take a peak at the CPU score. Anyways, sorry for crapping your thread, still an awesome score for your rig no doubt!

i think you would be happy with anything other than that celeron, the e8200 would be nice but the q6600 would be awesome...great for ocing
here is my best score...if your interested

I think breaking 7K would be very hard on an 8600GT.
I had an 8600GTS and the highest score (same specs as my present rig) I used to get 5,800 3dMarks with my CPU at 3.2Ghz. Granted the E4300 isn't close to a quad...

i retract my previous statements
8 or 9 might be a kinda hard without some serious modding and ocing
sry folks...i forget how well these cards scale once you have them in sli
the performance increase is insane

@ JBunch........What forceware driver set is the extreme G using?

Yeah, the guys over at tweakforce make good modded drivers. I've been using the xtreme-G drivers for about 3 years now. Always a better 3dmark score than the vanilla drivers

What kind of vcore are you using to get to 4.29ghz? Just curious...

Does anyone know what the ati versions of these modded drivers are like?

I have posted before about the preformance benefit of the Extreme G drivers ive also used them for a few years now they always deliver and are normally better than any competition like NGO drivers. I used to use the Extreme G warcat driver for my x1900xt it was awsome.

New proc just doesn't interest me at this time. Q6600 overclocking and and any 1333 fsb based c2d on this board just doesnt overclock as well as it should.
If I get anything related to a new processor it would have to be an e2200/e4700 or e6300.
