Alright, i havent built a server in AGES so im looking for a little help.

so far i have picked out:

Intel Xeon 3040 Conroe 1.86GHz(have heard good things about this proc) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117102
&
GeIL 4GB(2 x 2GB) DDR2 800(open to other suggestions. im also not sure if server 2008 supports 4gb) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820144118

im looking for:

and a good motherboard with 4 sata ports, and supports RAID
a good case, with a lock, for no more than $200USD shipped

i was looking at these cases:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811128036
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129027

basically its for a small insurance company. there will be a total of 6 computers on the network. i will be running Server 2008(RAID1) with Acronis True Image Echo Enterprise Server Edition, for a backup assistant.

I have an ARK case, pretty nice. No gripes about it. The only thing is that the PCI opening is just like .01 too short, and when you have card that goes right into it, it can be a little hard. A little snippy-snip and that was fixed, however.

sweet. thats what i thought.

do you think 4gb ram would be overkill for what they will be using it for?

a little 2gb would suffice but if they ever expand it would be very nice to have the 4gb

my view is always over build a server
