We've had that in the past too when we had a thread on Crossfire X. (http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=48479&highlight=Crossfire+thread) They use some sort of a copy bot or something. One of our members did a comprehensive whois. Let's say hello to the admin ;)

Can anything be done in this regard? Nope. You should see just how famous our X-Fi support syndicate became. Its posts are scattered all over the internet. All we can do is nothing. Imitation is a compliment.

why would you copy a post asking for help?

I can understand a post that has lots of useful information...but about a problem?...

Ive seen a first post copied before, but the responses as well?, crazy shit, specially when you look at them two 'alter ego's' join dates, have you looked to see if any of your other posts are in 'ranchero's' post history?

See, we can't get the fact that both of us are doing it. I got ya on it, but I don't use the smiling faces. It's not for me! But, if you want to be my second person, I'd go and help the powers of TPU!

Thank god.. I thought I was the only one who had an evil twin brother.

So, what...someone comes here, copies what you wrote and post it somewhere else?
What for?? Perhaps we should add some sort of copyright protection??

Go mighty CS and Pancho ! The swords of TPU lay in your hands. Rip their forums apart with enough posts to crash their servers. :)

Give them this :nutkick: for me and my hard work in the X-Fi SS that they stole.

Oh, I will go all noob on them! post one word posts, and just go all crazy and not! Give me a reason to be like a few on here, I'd do it in a heart beat! Just have to get Pancho up to it.

yeah, those copy sites suck ass something terrible - but I've just grown to accept and ignore it . . .

I keep happy in the reasoning that sites like TPU generate so many post counts, google hits, and overall bandwidth that sites employing copy bots just can't keep up and will fade into oblivion within a week or two. Anytime I've ever found a site with copied TPU posts, they usually only have the first 3-7 posts from a thread here, while our thread is going on page 2 or 3 - the TPU page gets hit and posted on more, google and most other search engines will bring that up first.
