Im so tempted to buy one just because they have them. Too bad I don't have an extra intel motherboard around.

My thinking is: folks have "settled" for something else in the interim.
Still sticking with my prediction...

These have been listed like 6 months already on most etailers but actual availability does not exist... :\
I usually upgrade the CPU about every 3-4 months but Penryn/Yorkfield seems like such an epic fail from Intel that I see no point in downgrading from Kentsfield to a Penryn nor non-QX Yorkfields that don't OC worth cr@p.
Nehalem would seem like a worthwhile upgrade.

I had to get an e6750 cus they didnt have the e8400 here in Aus for another ~ 2 months. Oh well, saved myself $50 and its a noticable increase from my e6400 :)

i paid £144 for mine pre-orered it a week before the release date.. since then i have seen then go up to £199 and they are now on pre-order no ETA on OC/UK at £187..
the quad 9300 is available at £199.. a very small ten or so oem 9450s came and went last week all pre-orded.. but all are now on pre-order with no ETA..
the e8200 is available at a nice price of £117.. slightly more than the e6750 but not much..
the lower speed parts have more availability in the UK than the US.. the price is way higher than what an american would pay thow..
