Looking for new games

At the moment I'm attempting to think of some new games to buy which would be fun to play online or at a LAN with friends.

I'm mainly into FPS, Some RTS (sci-fi based and some fantasy based) RPGs and anything insanely random (like a game called "WTF Work Time Fun" on my PSP)

Anyone got any ideas? currently we mainly play the following at LANs Call of Duty 4, Frontlines Fuel of War, Rise of Legends, Dawn of War + exps, and a few others but not as much as the ones I've listed.

Will be buying Team Fortress 2 this pay or next.

battle for mid earth i think is a pretty good game i like it at times it proved to be a bit of a challenge

also if you liked portal there is a mod for hl2 dm that allows you to have a little fun with the portal gun i think its called timportal or something i had a few good times with that

also another mod that is FREE and quite fun is pvk II

ahhh UT3 is kinda frowned apron at the LANs i go to we jsut play the original UT games (kinda a long story to why UT3 is frowned apon)

CSS isn't my bag either... the game would be better if its gamers were so ehhh "highly strung" xD

might check out those portal mods though :D

i highly recommend pvk it is just so much bloody fun, think tf2 with single shot pistols swords and parrots...yes parrots ;)

although if your looking for really fun lan rts you cant go wrong with starcraft or red alert 2

If you have steam download Pirates, Vikings and Knights II. I think I play it more than any other game I have. It's truly awesome and fun!:toast:

Bioshock (SP only)i found good fairly good plot to it too. I will have to say Armed Assault that has a MASSIVE fan base but only good if your into realistic army war gaming. Company for Hero's for sure pick it up for about $44 inc x pac 32 or 33 missions in total and WELL worth it.

Oblivion can be done Multiplayer, not sure how interesting it would be, but pretty.

GTA:San Andreas has some Multiplayer mods for it too.

there are still some superb Doom3 servers running, and most who still get out to play are great sports as well (none of the n00bish or 1337 crap). Especially if you've got some decent FPS skill, Doom3 matches are still quite entertaining.


Haven't checked in a long while, but I think there are still a very devout Quake2 fan base, as well - really great game for multi.

I think since PVKII is a mod you need to have Source SDK installed too. Steam does it all automatically.

yeah I know lol, I'm Anti-steam

hate the fact you pay for a game on there and have to have the program running to play it, and its full of ads and stuff. I'd rather spend the same amount of money and get the game off a ebay store in a another country and have the box,disc,manual and stuff (which is the same reason I don't pirate games >.<')

Yeah i Enjoyed Bioshock too.. never finished it though i started to lose interest once i got a ton of quests i had no idea what to do about xD

Its fun as long as it runs :shadedshu I cant get good frames with any of the newer ATI drivers.

I wasn't much of a fan of crysis to be honest lol
heard a lot of fan hype about how awesome it was but when i got around to playing it i didn't find it as impressive as i was expecting xD
