i have a game i like to play but havent tried it on my new computer until today.

its a WWI bi-plane and works with your mouse but today i found that i lost the ability to fly up or down and can only turn left or right. i reinstalled the game from my disk and also downloaded it straight off of the website here: http://www.smallrockets.com/pc/redacesquadronpro/

i installed the latest video drivers from here and also the latest mouse drivers from logitech to be sure they were correct and nothing but this game has a problem.

everything worked fine before so it must be my computer upgrade causing it even though im not sure how or why. the only thing "not" working is the forward or back movement of the mouse, the buttons and left or right movements work fine and when i switch to keyboard control it all works fine even though i cant seem to be good enough to kill anything that way lol. has anyone come across any issue like this before? it seems to be the mouse control has lost its imput to signal up or down movements. all other games work without issues, the only problem is with this one game.

my old computer where it was working fine was:
P4 single core 3.4ghz 800fsb and had 2gb dr400 ram and an msi p4 m900 mobo with gs7600 video card and $20 logitech wireless optical 3 button mouse with windows xp home.

i have since upgraded to:
q6600 quad core with 2gb ddr2 800 ram and p35 mobo with 8800gt video card and basic $12 logitech wired optical 3 button mouse with windows xp home.

I wonder if it's your optical mouse doing it? One thing I would try is changing the setting for USB Legacy in your bios and see if that works first. There may be something in the program linked to that. I'll give the game a try and see what happens.

Well, I tried the game, and it wont work for me whatsoever, no matter what compatability mode I'm in. I get nothing but screen glitches. In the bios there should be an option for USB Legacy support, which you can enable or disable.

i cant understand why its not working on yours, or at least running anyway. its an older game but its not that old and it uses direct x so it should be compatable with new systems still running direct x 9

i wonder if microsoft is screwing it up somehow with one of their updates?

it turned out to be a corruption in windows that caused it, after reformat and clean install the game works fine now.

strange thing was that this game was the only thing i noticed to be not working correctly so whatever the virus was doing it was well hidden and almost invisable.

im anal about virus protection and anti spyware but we all download something questionable now and then (no not porn, lol)

later we find problems then its too late to say "i should have known better"
