Ok im sick of buying cheap head sets that die after a few months so im gonna get a new one for about 50$. I've heard some good things about the Creative Fatality

The only thing I dont like about it is that douchebag fatal1ty is all over it but I can live with it
It has to have a microphone and the green connector(with pink one as mic) no USB BS I hate dealing with drivers and crap. Thanks :toast:

Forget headsets with mics built in! Get yourself a pair of Sony MDR-V150 headphones (about $20), and get a cheap mic with a desk stand.

Buy.com has the Creative Fatal1ty Professional Series Gaming Headset headset for $39.99, and only $29.99 after Google checkout. Make sure to activate the 5% off coupon link below, then go to the headset and get another $2 off. Hard to beat, seeing they are $80 at the next cheapest place.

This is the pro version of the Fatal1ty's, at a much cheaper price than the original ones. I just bought the pair you mentioned, and then these went on sale, so I picked up a pair of them as well. They come in tomorrow. It is so hard to beat with Google Checkout + 5% Coupon and Free Shipping! They retail for $80-85, so who can pass up $27.99???

The Fatalitys are pretty nice. I use those..while they could be a little more comfortable (like any headphones can be) I think they are awesome for such a low price...probably the only ones that would be a significant boost from them are the Sennheisers

I just can't believe I can get the pro's now for cheaper than I got the standard gaming headset for less than a month ago. Do the pro's cup you ears completely? That is my only complaint about my current pair, smash my ears.

Get the pro's from buy.com. I am kicking myself for not waiting a few weeks until closer to my LAN (main reason I got them).

I have to agree 100% with erocker ive been online gaming now for over 8 years and ive always found a good set of sony stereo headphones works great i use eax as an advantage and every headset ive tried with a built in mic either blanks out eax or dulls it badly.
so i use a seperate desk mic now and sony headset cant fault it.
pure unfilterd sound is great with no noise blanking etc i can hear a counter terrorist fart from a thousand yards:laugh:.

This is what you want, really, it sounds 3 times better than the Creatives.
For the record, i went from cheap $20 headsets, to multiple $50 headsets, then Sennheisers HD477 (~$70), Steel 5H (~$90), and Sennheisers HD555.
It beats the 5H anytime, and let's not talk about the $50 ones.

I really honestly dont care about sound quality I just want it to work for a good two years and have a good mic. Imo spending 100$ on a head set would be a waste specially if it broke..

but you did ask what the best ones were so you had to expect ppl posting up $300 headsets.

That looks freaking delicious!
On topic, I forget the surround headset my friend keeps raving on about. It could well be the aforementioned Sennheiser PC350. It's costing him over £100 so it could well be that headset.

this is why it has a two year warranty.
$200 headset will still break.
most of the time, either the microphone or one side of the headphones broke.
A lot of people are spending on $50 headphones replacing them every 4-5 months. After a year it would cost you the same, but you had inferior quaility for the whole time.

The HD555s are the best headphones I've ever had. The sound quality is amazing and they are REALLY comfortable. You can wear them for hours without even knowing they're on... Just try them on and you'll know... Also the build quality is very good, much better then the fatalitys and most other headsets, you can tell they will last for a very long time.

My new Fatal1ty pro's just came in and I am listening to some soundtracks on them right now, and the sound quality is awesome, especially for the deal I got on them.

Oh man the Piranhas are amazing! The sound quality with my onboard sound is astounding! Its almost as good as my dads surround sound system! I emailed Razer support about my mic, it also records what my computer is playing too so..
