so i went to the official call of juarez website to get the dx10 patch. first off, when the game runs its requirements utility it doesnt like that i have a dx10 gpu saying i dont have the minimum requirements to play. so i go to the site to get the patch and i have to enter an age verifcation thing. well i put in a date that is 18+ and it denies me! now i cant get it in lolol

From what I've read you can enable it all you want but it doesn't actually do anything yet except allow AA. So, yes, technically it supports DX10 but until a patch comes out it doesn't actually do anything that it doesn't do in DX9. It does do DX10 on PS3 though.

ya polaris is right from what iv read the ps3 version supports it...but the PC version just uses it to render dx10 AA and the game itself wont fully utalize dx10 for other things until a patch comes out.

call of juarez is the only game where you will notice any significant differences in graphics
and there aren't much of dx10 game to choose from...

Bioshock and World in Conflict are both great. I'm looking forward to a lot of games probably to be dx10: Mass Effect, Fallout 3, Starcraft 2, and some others I can't think of right now. I personally would like Spore to be dx10 native, as with the rest, but that seems a tad unlikely.

the game really wouldnt work with multi... its very story driven and linear. Quite fun, and a good story indeed.

nah i get ya, i just finished CnC3 kanes wrath, and am VERY disapointed in the singleplayer game. the levels were great, but the cutscenes/movies almost had NO relation to each other.Story made no sense, thus the SP is utter crap - but at least i have MP and skirmish.

I dont see how it could be.

It probably could be, just as any other fps. A bunch of characters running around rapture trying to kill each other on special mp maps and plasmids, I could see it. Could be fun. I still prefer sp to mp myself. Although I just got the orange box, so I will be hitting up some tf2 soon (first through episode 1 & 2 though, just finished portal (fantastic))........
On that note will episode three be dx10?

Probably not. Not unless DX10 gets so mainstream that DX9 is just obsolete that quick.

Lol, you can try. I don't know exactly what you are implying, but a crappy thing about bioshock is you only get 2 installs, then done. I'm sure you could maybe get a new key, but I don't know......

Yea plus the hl2 engine would have to be revamped, and their probably not gonna do that, seeing how they make it look pretty amazing anyway. Oh well, however and whenever they continue the series after that, maybe.:)

actually there has been official support about adding it - they ARE revamping the engine for ep3, thats why its taking longer. They are going to improve the physics, add multithreading for CPU's, and add DX10 to some extent - it may well just be shinier water effects, but it will be there to some extent.

Nice good to hear. They gotta go out in style, since they've said the episodes are hl3. Although I would assume theres gonna be some kind of continuation sometime.....

what they TRIED to do, was make all the games with the one engine, so that it was basically just making the maps.
In the end they decided it felt too similar (repetetive) so they're doing engine upgrades along the way as well - at least its only 1-2 years, and not 7 like HL2 :P
