Well im looking at putting to together a cheap system to keep me going while i save money for things, i currently sold my mobo/proc/ and my GPU soon and i plan on getting AMD's 780G since im hearing rave reviews about it and living off IGP and even hybrid GFX to save some $$$
Now my debate comes down to this, ive gotten some offers on 5000+ BE editions which i hear is stupidly simple to OC but im not sure if the 780G will even OC all that well as it cannot handle 125w Processors(the 5000+ is 89 while the Phenoms 9550 is 95) so i think OCing will be servely limited.. where is come my problem
Should i get the Phenom 9550(195@newegg) and pair it with the 780G to make sure the build has the latest features and gets the maximum outa the IGP, of go with the cheaper x2's to save on cash?
its a hard balance Quality vs Price because i want the "best" for the price so is the Phenom going to be worth it? will i enjoy its speed for the extra 100 spent? or is just taking the 5000+ BE and OCing the crap out it(IF I CAN EVEN DO IT) going to be able to match it?

Phenoms aren't supposed to OC that well unless you get the 9850BE. I think quad-core is a bit overkill if you're going cheap, no?
And the BE's like I've said are STUPIDLY easy to OC. You can leave the mobo and ram and everything out. As long as your PSU is stable, they are easy to get to 3.2 (the old ones anyway).

Whats sad to see however is that only a few hardward sites used the Phenom with the 780G
this is what got me thinking about the Phenom..
"HyperTransport 3.0 capability (5.2GT/s+ interface) is included and is extremely important in extracting every last ounce of performance out of the HD 3200 graphics core. AMD recommends the Phenom processor family (Ed: not just to sell out stocks of B2 processors) in order to fully take advantage of the performance offered by the HD 3200. With a Phenom onboard, the HD 3200 will perform post-processing on high-definition content and it makes a difference in image quality and fluidity during 1080p playback. In fact, the graphics core is so sensitive to the HT interconnect link speed that simply raising the standard 1.8GHz speed to 2.2GHz on our 9600BE resulted in measurable performance differences in a few applications."

which is what leaves me wondering IS it worth the extra 100? so i dont have to spend the $100 sometime later down the line when i might not have it?
and for Hybrid CF i was even thinking of picking up a 2400XT/3470 because there dirt cheap...
they have a 2400XT for $40

And a HD 3570 for $55.... what one would be better to try Hybrid CF with?

No idea on the two cards man. I would say if you're going budget, save the extra $100. A 3.2DC will do fine versus a 2.2QC for half the price.
IMO, the 5000+BE is the ultimate budget overclocker's processor.

Dual core is better for gaming regardless, and much easier to OC. Usually cheaper also.

Yea ive read it but the problem was because there using 125W TDP Processors with 3 Phase Voltages mobos, that can only really handle 95W TDP

If you're going budget AMD and want upgradability to a phenom, I would go with...

This should give you all the power you need, I think.

Ive decided to go with the Blacky and Gigabyte 780G board as ZipZoomfly has them both for pretty cheap. Question though is the Stock AMD fan going to be good enough? to handle a 3.0Ghz OC and Voltage or is better cooling needed

Not sure. But keep in mind, the blacky does not come with a cooler.
I would get the Xigmatek S1283. Seems like it's a favorite around here.
BTW - where's Elk Grove in relation to LA/OC?

Its only a couple miles away from Sacramento(maybe 5 hours drive to LA), and i live right near highway 99 to Fresno and I-5 to LA

Ah, still pretty far from me. Mmk, just wondering.
Just want to make sure that you realized you're not getting a cooler with that blacky, right?

The 5000+ blacky is only a 65w CPU. I have mine at 3.0ghz rock solid on a cheap gigabyte award. At 3.0 ghz its only 75w usage. Grab an arctic freezer 64 pro to pair with a 5000+ Black Edition and you should have no problem getting it up to 3.2 ghz.
