About six months ago i brought myself all the componts for a new pc and build it. it worked fine and i went to install wow and the BC expansion on my pc.The install off the discs kept failing saying errors were detected and i had to download a fresh install file from the wow website. I installed the files and all was fine untill i tried to patch my game and then i got all sorts of errors thrown at me basicly saying the install was corrupt and needed re-installing. Eventuly i got the game patched up and could get online, but then when i would enter certain areas on my charictors the game would crash saying corrupt files. So i tried repairing the game which said i needed to re-install the game, so i deleted the game, re-installed it and re-downloaded the patchs but i always ended up with the game randomly crashing when i went into certain zones. So i desided to re-format my pc and start a fresh. SOoi have now re-installed wow after having to download the install files again because the disc's wouldnt work and sat thourgh the horendous patch download to find when i run wow repair wizzard it still says my game is seriously damaged. To top it off now when i boot the game up ever so often my entire pc will crash. After reading the wow forums i decided to get a RAM testing program and tested my RAM for about 2 hours and it detected no errors. my pc will run fine for hours on end without crashing when warcraft is not running so i cant see how there is a problem there. I am totaly stumpped as to what is going on and im desperate for help.

my pc is:
Intel Core2 Quad CPU @2.4Ghx
2.45Ghx, 3.00 Gig of RAM (was 4 gig but my motherboard would only see 3 gig)
Seagate ST3320620A 320GB Hard Drive 7200RPM 16MB Cache
Abit AW9D motherboard
2X Nvidia Geforce 8800GTS

If you require anymore infomation please ask and tell me how to get it and i will post it up
any help would be fantastic.

Looks like issues with your Hard Drive...either bad drive or improper setting in BIOS.

Could also be improper RAM Voltage setting in BIOS.

I say try it with one stick of ram and see if it settles the issue.

Sneekypeet has a good idea.

Check manufacturer specifications on RAM for proper voltae seting and then verify them in your BIOS. It could be in "PC Health" section or "Voltage Controll" Section. realy depends on the BIOS. I'll download your Mobo manual and check.

If you have access to another pc, install WOW on there. As you will still be using the same login, no copyright type issues.

That way you can once and for all rule out any issues with the installation discs.

Also, download Seatools from the Seagate website to check on the health of your hd.

A last suggestion would to try and install with as many background processes turned off, as you may be getting a software conflict of some kind.

Do you have any issues with any other games?
