View Full Version : Need help with 2 BIOS parameters for overclocking of P5K-SE motherboard

The parameters are:

- CPU GTL voltage reference: possible values are 0.63, 0.61, 0.59, 0.57 and Auto

- Clock over charging voltage: possible values are 0.7, 0.8, 0.9, 1.0 and Auto.

Both of them are @ Auto because i have no idea of what they do. For high overclocking, what values should i use?

@ present, i can FSB to 420, with 9 multi, but it freezes and/or crashes: the best i can get is 410, atm. Changing the values of these 2 parameters can help with overclock?

Don't know about that: they could be there with different names or something ...

In the BIOS, it says that changing these might help with overclocking but, without having the slightest idea what these do, i hesitate to change them.

Thanks dude: it does have 1 of the settings but i have no idea of the reference value.
Mine's in Auto atm, so i don't know which of the 4 it is on right now. If i put it on 0.63 and that's the Auto setting, i'll accomplish nothing. On the other hand, if it isn't, i have no idea if the end result will be good or bad, and that's why i hesitate until i know more.

from what I read at dfi-club forums...the GTL reference voltage is to be able to slightly change voltage to stabilize cores in a quad when OC'ing. They also stated that adding a bit my help stabilize a really high OC on a C2D as well.

Personally never messed with it, but I found it as an option on my Blood Iron. through some research, that is the best I've come up with so far!
