hi there

I'm going trough a pc hardware upgrade and decided to get me a new cpu

i settles down on this 2 since they get some of the best top sells and great reviews but cuz one is quad core and the other is core 2 duo I'm a bit confused about which one can satisfy my needs as a gamer.

*Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz

easy m8 - the e8400.

may be the quad cores in the future but not now.

the e8400 is raw power.

just about to replace my e6600 with a e8400...cant wait.

I'd agree about the 8400 for gaming.

E8400.

Games have only just started utilizing core 2 duo. The best c2d are still very much future-proof.

If you get the quad now, by the time you'd be reaping the gaming benefits many more quads will have come out and your quad would be the lowest-end one by then...
