Hi,

I just saw that Windows XP Professional 64 bit is available at one of my local stores. It costs the same as the normal 32 bit version, what should I get?

Any ideas welcome.

I would say the 64bit version, but do you not already have XP? If you do, I don't think it would be worth the money for the upgrade. At one point you could get the 64bit version for free via a trade in, but I don't think that is still on.

I decided to get Windows 64 bit, I'll see how the drivers are, I can always revert back to 32 bit. I don't think the exchange action is on anymore.

Did you check to make sure your hardware is compatible first? I think there's a site for that, but I don't remember the URL.

you can install xp and xp x64 with Dualboot :)
btw: check if you find mb and gfx card drivers
can you tell me you system?

My system is in my sig. I'll try to install Windows 64-bit first, see how it is, and then maybe install Windows 32-bit (I'll make a free partition during installation anyhow)

You may have to install Windows 64-bit after the 32-bit version for it to work right. I haven't actually tried dual-booting with it, but I do know that Microsoft's recommendation is to install Windows versions in order from oldest to newest in a multi-boot configuration.

got a point
install xp 32bit (am sure you are using that now ;P so skip this)
install xp x64 (just make a new patision in windows xp 32bit)
