HD 3850 Crossfire or HD 3870 + HD 3850 CrossfireX?

Would drivers for two 3850's be better than 3850+3870? I'm gonna go crossfire here in the next month or two so any suggestions would be nice :)

Is your 3850 the 512Mb version or 256Mb version. If 256 I would say cf with another 256 MB version since you will not benefit much adding a 512Mb version but if it is the 512Mb version give your 3850 I little speed bump and add a 3870 to your setup.

Yes I have a 3850 512mb comin fresh from RMA :D So a 3870 would be better performance wise? Also I dont need Vista for CrossfireX, thats just Hybrid right?

vista is needed for xfirex yes. i've got 2 3870's for sale if your interested.

I would suggest another 3850 512mb. Crossfire is a little buggy with with the 3850 + 3870 combo.:)

Get a 3850, the 3870 is almost no faster than a 3850 in tests, erocker says the combo is a bit buggy, I wouldn't push it then don't need problems....

If you plan on getting another 3870 later, then it might be worth it to get a 3870 now.

Yea I do not plan on getting Vista unless its free so I guess ill get a 3850.

I just got a HD3850 512 off ebay for 90 bucks, I got my first one for 120 from ebay last year, if you need a 3850 then I reccomend ebay if you know what your doing

I wish I knew how to do the mem volt mod though
