You could about compare it to a slightly better than a 8600gts maybe...
I wouldn't waste your time/money, honestly sell your 2600pro, and spend the money and get either a 8800gs or 8600gts, if you want an ati get a used hd3850 and you will crap your pants.

Why not get one? After my experience with an 86gt I know I wouldn't purchase another nvidia card in the near future. I think it would be a great holdover for the HD4k wait.
Although, if you do want to sell yours freakshow you have a buyer here, I am more than willing to run 2 2600 Pro's in xfire. :D

Only reason I say its not worth it, is the extra power draw and for almost absolute nill in performance gain... You can easily sell it and put little to no money into it and get a 8800gs which would absolutely destroy the performance of that set and do it using half the power.
I had 2 2600xt gddr4s and those overclocked don't compete with my single hd3850.

only reason I'm debating on getting another is cause to gain better performance in COD4 and i need something a little better then just one 2600 pro until i build a new system and use these for my media center PC

In speaking 3d game performance wise phil, 2 2600 Pro's would be in between an 8600GT stock and an 8600GTS.
@niko
True, but it would less time consuming than trying to sell an HD2600 Pro.

Well in that case, I mean you will get a performance boost, but its not really worth the money if you ask me... The performance increase is fairly small. Like I said before a single 8600gts will about match it, being a 8800gs, hd3850 will eat the set for lunch...
Take a look at those two cards and prices, and kinda see what you might be interested in.

All I know is that the 512MB on mine truly does help. I had noticed in benches it really stinks against an overclocked 8600gt. But true gaming, it was better in highly shaded games like Crysis, FEAR, FarCry, Doom 3.....
I doubt the 256MB flavor wouldnt be so good though to crossfire.
