As some of you have heard me say before, I am doing a rebuild from old parts for my grandson in Costa Rica.

I will be reinstalling the existing license that came with my eMachine since basically I am using the old parts with a new case and motherboard.

It's an english version (US) of XP and would like to change as much of the OS to spanish as possible.

Many of the software programs I have seem to come with language choices.

By changing the region/language to spanish what does that really effect?

List of parts in rebuild

ECS P4VXASD2+V5.X MB
1.5GHZ 400 FSB 256KB Willamette P4
Rosewill RES02-SLV 500W PSU (with 24-20 pin adapter)

Asus GeForce4 MX440se 64MB 4X AGP
120GB 133IDE HD
2 X 512MB PC133 SDRAM
Liteon DVD-RW / Floppy / 5.25” BayCooler

If your existing version of XP came with your e-machine it may not work. Often times OS' that come with computers will only work on that brand. i.e. the when you get a copy of XP with a dell computer in only works with Dell computers, if you change the motherboard, than you can no longer use "their" copy of XP.

Those settings only affect regional parameters such as keyboard layout, time/date display, currency format, measuring units (I think any other region/language than "USA" will default to metrics), etc. It won't change interface language, for that you have to buy a Spanish version of Windows.
