With that said, I will mention some of those I have ruled out since it seems fans haven't thoroughfully read all the forum posts in said thread.

Things the May 1 Announcement are not:
1. It is not an official announcement of Diablo 3
2. It is not about an upcoming Diablo novel
3. It is not a Network merge

probably something to do with Starcraft 2 maybe a Demo or Media.

Time you be right for D3. I think a demo is asking way to much. Hopfully there was a good side of WOW coming out and doing so well.. Maybe it allowed them to make a D3 which is FREE to play online :) ( all though it be ads on it though.

D2 is free to play online....i don't see why they would charge for D3 as its not a mmo...just be sill really...sooting them self is the foot

Well there was a time when they were going to charge for D2 but decided to show ads instead.

Even if it was i'd still get it for the SP :).... Don't think i have to the time to get addicted to such a game again lol.

I played D2 but not D1 tho I remember doing AOL for Age of Empires! I loved that game! I played my dad all the time over lan and a few of his friends would join us over the net and it was a blast.

Sigh been waiting for ages for the next adventures in the diablo universe, although I think it'll take some time for it to come out hope it's keeps the good old feel of game but with innovative gfx and longer gameplay.... Hmm not much of a hype of SC 2 for me, DoW keeps me away from it lol...

Think WoW in the diablo universe. Sounded lame and disapointing to me, so i hope thats not the case.

Diablo 3 would be super-awesome... but somehow I just doubt it. They'll either focus on Starcraft 2 for the time being, or do something else. A 282nd add-on for WoW? Perhaps. :shadedshu

the MMO diablo isnt far off from their thinking - look how popular WoW is, and then look at the gameplay (on paper) of diablo II. Oh its a group of friends who team up online and go beat monsters... and they level up and get cool gear doing so. Oh crap that sounds like WoW/MMO to me.

They also make more money off MMO's than other games, but i feel its a bad move - they are diversifying their market (gamers with friends in WoD and WoW will choose one or the other) and its just not what we want. we want OFFLINE play - singleplayer, LAN play, and characters that can walk between the two.

The best fun i had was diablo II, me and friends used to have trouble at certain parts, and we'd coop our way through it - it was fun working together, without the hassle and cost of an MMO. being australian, i'm just hugely biased against online things as overall internet sucks here, MMO servers are often too far away.

a Diablo MMO would be cool...just hopefully they make it a hardcore MMO to counter their EZ mmo. I'd totally love playing as a Demon race or something...Demon Shadowknight anyone? ahaha :) but I doubt Blizz will do that. I'd expect a Starcraft MMO before Diablo. They probably just announcing that they are "starting" to work on a Diablo 3 and it'll be out in 2018.

Yeah, they need to make DIABLO classic. I played diablo 1 and diablo 2, and I have to admit diablo 2 and warcraft 3 were the best online experiences ive had. I started on WoW for a while, and had just as much fun, but my job kinda makes it where I dont have time to spend on it, along with the family. Maybe when I get back home from IRAQ I might be able to get back on the trail. Even just an hour or so of play is good to just sit and relax.

except that hellgate is the worst parts thrown together with the best stuff removed. Seriously, i was on the beta and me and my housemate (i lost 3 years of my life to diablo II. there was an intervention.) both agree the game is crap - its horrible to play online. we want offline LAN play - we want the coop for SMALL groups of people. 2. 3. not 10. we dont want to spend 5 weeks online just grinding to find out how the story ends, we use the internet for other things ya know.

i hope its good. really do - so many RTS games are flawed today (supreme commander while awesome, is a real CPU killer - dawn of war... well it was great originally. expansions are boring as hell now tho)

I can hardly wait for sc2 to come out but i doubt i have enough time to really get good at it. I would seriously love there to be a D3 though, much like d2 not a mmo game but one where you only need a few people or could even go at it alone in a single player.

On Topic: Wish they won't change to feel of the game of D1 and D2 for D3 so people won't have a hard time adopting to controls, if they ever get a hard time...
