7300GS PCI-E unlockable to 7300GT?

Hey all Frys had on self one 7300GS for $50 with a 20 MIR and its EVGA so i decide to pick it up and play with it.

My question here can i unlock the PP to 8? just like the 7300GT? or is a complete different card? also can i possibly "bios flash" to get the Core/memory to GT speeds?

No the 7300GS uses a different core. The 7300GT uses the same core as the 7600GS just with some pipes disabled.

damn, ok. But hows the overclock ablitity? using riva tuner i see my stock speeds are 550 Core and 553 Memory(its 256mb/64bit DDR2)

Unfortunately not, the 7300GS fully utilizes its G72 core, even overclocking is a miss. Ive got a 7900 GS I might sell you.

Its ok, it was dirt cheap and i wanted to play around with it, i got 15 days to return it for a full refund of my money so im just going to do that.

well it can do 600 core with decent cooling and the memory should do about 650, at least thats where i got one at, still didnt compete with crap
