View Full Version : 9800 GX2 Size Problems

I have an Aprevia X-Plorer Mid Case and I don't know if a 9800 GX2 will fit in it (lengthwise)

I'm getting a complete new setup anyways but want to know if I should go to a full tower or keep with the mids?

Mid tower options:
- NZXT ALP-001 Alpha
- Aprevia X-Jupiter Jr G type
- Antec Nine Hundred

Full tower Choice:
- Aprevia X-Jupiter G Type (not Jr)

The full sized ones will surely fit it but I don't want to really go that big or spend that much more

ive fit a Full size (10.5 inches) into an Antec Aria (aka. NSK 1380), and its got 1.125 inches to spare, i dare say you can fit a full length card in just about anything if you really want it :D

thanks, my old case has barley enough room to fit my 8800 GTS in, PCI power cable is bent like 90 degrees

Should I splurge on the bigger case?? only getting a sound card and network card as a plus to the videocard

well on a full length card the power connectors are on the long side of the pcb at the end instead of on the short end, like in the pic. but the cards are a little longer than the GTS...

heh my 8800GTX fits in my matx lan PC... quite funny that.

house lans are ran here weekly, and every month is a larger one. pity perth is so far away (i'm on the NSW/vic border)

oh harsh! well when i do a round Aus trip, ill make sure that at lan at yours is a pitstop :D

bring a few TB of storage space - i've got 3 myself (for now) and download at least 60GB a month... and theres more than just me at the lans.

How many HDD's are you using...I ended up cutting all but the top two slots for HDD's out of my Xplorer!

aimed at me?

5x in the cage, 1x500 in the gaming rig, 1x raptor X 150 in the LAN rig, 1x400 in a USB/e-sata cage. have a few smaller ones i'm selling to get some more 750's.

No sorry was aimed at Al....he has generally the same case....if he doenst have too many Hdd's he could cut the room he needs if in fact he still needs room for his upgrade!
