I was wondering if anyone could help me out. Around x-mas time, I built the pc in my specs and had it up and running perfectly using xp x64. I had both Halo and Halo 2 working flawlessly. However, I tried moving up to Vista (as well as Vista SP1 on another occasion).
Needless to say, Vista hates my southbridge (probably the northbridge as well) and so I decided to come back to ol' reliable. I have the latest drivers installed and Crysis plays great (and 3dMark06 gives me around 9600). Unfortunately, Halo crashes 2 seconds after I load a map in single player, but I can ctrl+alt+delete out. In multiplayer, the game hard locks the system and I have to reboot. I just tried the demo as well and the same thing happens. Oddly enough, I get the error in the attatched picture when I open either Halo or Halo Trial.
As for Halo 2, I installed it using the good old method around x-mas time. No good, it hards locks the system while loading a level as well. For interest, I tried using the most up to date loaders (certainly makes things easier to install), but the same issue arises. Halo 2 doesn't give me any error pop-ups like Halo 1.
Any ideas? Remember, these games were all working fine on the same system around x-mas. Tried using both Catalyst 8.3 and 8.4 and same issues arise.
