That's an 8600gt, I (will) have an 8600gts. It's probably different.

um...the title says 8500/8600(GT/GTS) mod guide....you may have a different pcb layout but the parts are usually exactly the same between the GT and GTS part for part the same (per brand) GTS's are better binned and some come with a higher stock voltage thats all.
"Now this is a Palit 8600GT which has the same layout as the evga and nvidia 8600GT
GPU volt mod"
So that's the reference desgin?

Foxconn is great man.. I love my foxconn board! Good luck ocing it, looks like a decent cooler.
Foxconn makes all the cards for Nvidia anyway. I imagine they would use the reference design.
@ Jr, it will probably come in tomorrow. I will most likely have it tomorrow... then I will put it through tests, see if it's stable at stock settings, then see how far I can overclock it without the vmod. Then I will take a look at the vmod if I feel I need it...
I think I can get my uncle to sell my 8500gt on ebay. So what should I do... keep it flashed at high clocks or reflash it to stock settings?

Like hat said foxconn makes all the nvidia pcb's so its almost 99% stock design(it even has the outline for the stock fan)

Nope... the only thing I can find on Google is an 8600gt, and a FRONT view of the card in question.

kk thats fine
how much did you snag it for?
$110 shipped, it was $107.50 shipped but I gave my uncle a tip, heh.
Going moderate so far. At first I thought it was bunk because after I installed riva tuner and had it detect the video card on bootup all I got was a white screen and when I rebooted I didn't get a screen at all, and my hard drive boot order changed :wtf:
Went into safe mode, uninstalled ATiTool (used it with mt 8500gt), Riva Tuner, and the video drivers. Booted back into normal, reinstalled ATiTool and drivers, overclocked to 733/1780/2222 right off the bat, scan for artifacts for 14 minutes, came back fine. I got more FPS in the ATiTool fuzzy cube then with my x1800XL, that makes me happy. Let's see how BF2142 runs on full graffix with 16QAA/16AF =)

Good luck hat.
I got 810 core, 1125 mem, and 1825 on the shaders without a vmod. :D Its quite snappy.
Yeah right now I'm at 733/1780/1111(2222)
Changed it to 733/1780/1125(2250)
I already modded it in two ways:
Replaced stock thermal gunk (and holy shit do they use too much) (this was nerveracking--my paste is 10% silver, and some of it got on some of those little metal things around the core... O_O isopropyl ftw eh?)
Flashed BIOS to final clocks (in specs)

Nice! Please tell me you are enjoying it?!
no I hate it I wish I could have my 8500gt back
of corse I enjoy it. I enjoy NOT being totally fucking pwned as soon as my pod lands or something blows up near me in BF2142 cause smoke lags me. :)
