I kept fooling around with the levelord patch for tcpip and it finally ruined my vista install !!!

it doesnt work in vista. there was early mods that worked, but winupdates and SP1 changed the code so they dont work now. Do not attempt this on vista.

yes i am sure. no TCP patch for vista.
Vista ultimate has 25 connections a second, compared to XP's 10 - they increased it, but its still not enough. They have protected the dll file responsible, so now if you mod it the system wont boot (or at best, you have no networking)

i setup a spare parts rig to torrent under XP with. pentium 4 (3GHz @ 2Ghz) 512MB DDR 400 @ 266. laptop 40GB HDD + 120GB IDE drive. systems silent, and utorrent throws completed torrents to the larger IDE drive, which then turns back off (set HDD timer to 5 mins in XP)
seriously cant hear it, as everything runs passive (CPU, mobo, video card) and the harddrives are both samsungs.
and yes, that system is TCP patched :)
