Heya Damulta, if those fall through I have a completely working fine 2600 Pro I can trade you (if you want it). I am pretty skilled with the soldering iron, you will just have to show me what needs fixed. Can it be RMA'd?

DaMulta, its a good price, but the egg has them open box for less, and really the extras that come with the board are things i got in excess, sata cables, firewire and usb/diag ports( got like 3 of them from msi boards)

I never got them to do the 3-3-3-10 1000Mhz which is what I ran my 4 sticks of tracer 8000 512mb chips at.

that board looks intresting but, msi in my exp has meh bios support, also seen reports of many of the high end 790fx boards blowing out with 9850chips, msi was on that list, tho its still a great board for lower watt chips by most accounts :)

DaMulta did you have a 580 board from epox, if so how was it, i been trying to find somebody i could trust to give an openion on it, i know its not k10 ready and never will be(epox=dead) but i have seen them on ebay and other places for VERY cheap and was alwase intrested in those boards.

i have fryed parts on systems, normaly due to my own stupidity and pushing things to far dispite knowing the querks of a board/componant.

best one was frying an old p3 mobo because the videocard i had drew to much power for the boards agp slot to coap with(knew i was pushing it....hehe) there was a loud crack and sparks, the tops of 2 fets exploded off, best part tho was that the board still worked with pci videocards but the agp was totaly dead!!!

was fun getting my boss to replace the fets( i didnt have the skillz at the time to make them look prof when replaced, he did, ended up with better fets with better sinks and he replaced 1/2 the caps with rubys for me because he liked the board but not its caps)

Like I have said, when I tested the first PCI-E slot I didn't get video. This could of been because I didn't have the card in there right. I ran the video in the 2ed PCI-E slot with this board which worked just fine. You don't really get any performance loss.

BOTH boards did this.


Still the 250 is a good deal for the 1k and that board.

its fine for now not got time for RMA 3x xfire is good enough for me lol


haha its already modded with a 40mm fan over the chip by the PCI slots (SB?) and the mosfets have a 80mm over them

I would suggest RMAing it since the 2 dark blue PCI-E slots are the ones best used for crossfire (I think the light blue slots only operate at 8x, can't be sure). I had both my 3870's in the dark blue slots and had them both running PCI-E 2.0 16x.

There isn't that much of a difference using the 8x over the 16x at all. Even in CF.
