I am running a 3 year old TruePower 2.0 480W Here (http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?Item=N82E16817103930), minus the blue LED.
Anyway to my question, would the 12v rails hold up to say two low consumption cards, either 8800gs or 9600gt for example. I know 8800gs/9600gt recommends 22A on 12v.
Don't really want a recommendation for a new power supply, really just looking for if it would power the cards. Using my system as a base.

I realise your not looking for an upgrade just confirmation but I think if you are unsure especially being on the limit it may prove wise to upgrade, especially when undersized PSU can comprimise your entire system. Sorry if it doen't help. :D

I realize it needs an upgrade, which is slotted in the future, but I really am just looking for a answer to it. Will be moving either a corsair 620HX at some point or some other reliable modular. But for now I must stick with this.:ohwell:

No, Wait till you have a PSU before buying cards like that..
youll be fine for one card methinks, im running my current system (Q6600@ 3.6, 9800GTX huge OC, 6 hard drives and some fans) on an even older trupower gen1 550w.
surely enough they recommend 22A, but the card will NOT draw anywhere near that.

if its just one card then you will be fine. ive looked into this alot cos i want to buy a 9600gt and i only have 450w psu and dont wanna upgrade but i should be fine with 26a on 12v. ppl are running these cards on 400w psu's...its all about the amps on the 12v

I am running one 8800gs right now, I am just curious if it could hold two. I don't think I am even close to topping out the PSU it doesn't even blow out hot air, so I am assuming it isn't under even close to 100% load.
