um... 5.99 for shipping i would have to wait till i get more stuff so i can save on shipping........looks good though

yeah just add it to your cart from anywhere you order something. saving a buck isnt worth adding 5-6 for shipping from the cheaper place

dark2099
05-25-2008, 06:39 AM
For me shipping from performance-pcs.com was $6.80, the MX-2 iteself is 7 bucks, so better to pick up when getting something else too. Just checked Jab-Tech, the MX-2 itself is 6 bucks, the shipping is $7.12!!! So I think in the end Newegg might be the best if picking it up solo.

no. just a single core netburst celery. no dual core on socket 478.

dark2099
05-28-2008, 10:59 PM
The Celeron is socket 775, not dual core.

Damn, nice price for that MSI. Too bad Ive no need for it now, nor the money.

dark2099
05-28-2008, 11:37 PM
Yea, I probably could, but with rumors for new AMD chip's coming out soon, and the fact it has dropped a bit since I got it, the price works for me.

Xazax
05-29-2008, 12:08 AM
Ah okay, well he said Celeron D and as my understand from the Pentium line up was that the "D" standed for Dual Core like Pentium 805 D, i was about to say Dual core for socket 478 O.o

dark2099
05-29-2008, 12:10 AM
It might not be a Celeron D, lemme do some checking on Intel's site, I might have it listed wrong.

Edit, checked the chip itself, it is listed on the chip as Celeron D.

novacheck
05-29-2008, 12:12 AM
Which one are you talking about? The 478, or the 775. The 478 IS a Celeron D, but it is not dual core. I never understood why Intel labeled the Celeron's that way, when they aren't DC.

dark2099
05-29-2008, 12:14 AM
We are talking about the 478 I bought from you.

novacheck
05-29-2008, 12:19 AM
Yeah, it is IIRC a Celeron D 320. But, no, not a dual core. It was kind of a hand me down from my inlaws old computer, and when I got it, I was excited thinking it was a dual core, because of the D. But, no, it wasn't:mad:. It's not a bad processor, in it's own right. It has served it's purpose well. I would like to see someone get it, and see what kind of clocks it can pull, though.

Good luck with the sell, if I needed what you have, I would be all over it.

Um...not really sure, both the core and memory are somewhere in the 200mhz range, I believe I got it around when Diablo 2 came out maybe. It can be overclocked using ATI Tool, so that will help.

Silverel

Wikipedia ftw. Pretty much anything predating these games should run too.

Ah, just keep in mind that just because these games can be played, doesn't mean they'll be played well
Pixel Shaders 1.1 (DirectX 8.0)

I just bought the OCZ 6400 memory from Frys last thursday. Let me call Patriot and see if the mem is compatible with my mobo, so I can go 8GB:D

dark2099
06-02-2008, 11:46 PM
I have run this one 5 different motherboards (ASUS, MSI, ECS, Biostar, Gigabyte) with out a problem, so if you are worried about compatibility I doubt it will be a problem.

suraswami
06-02-2008, 11:48 PM
I will be using it with Abit AN-M2.

Are those pair or did you buy individually? If indi do they run dual-channel?

suraswami
06-02-2008, 11:49 PM
and did you try S3 sleep state? That is the true memory compatibility test.

dark2099
06-02-2008, 11:50 PM
I haven't ever played with that, so there ya have me stumped. I bought them individually, but they do run in dual channel.
