Ok, so a few weeks ago I bit into a Wasabe pee and broke off part of my lower, left rear molar tooth.

No biggie, I thought. Off to the dentist to get it fixed.

Dentists looks at it and says, "The best thing to do is extract it".
I love the word extract. I sounds so much more pleasant than "Rip Out".

So in I go today. Dentists says, "Ok a couple filllings and one to rip out".
What happened to extract? :wtf:

He pumps my face full if enough novaciane to numb a charging rhino.
Great no pain for me !!!

Turns out he can't get the tooth out by normal "extraction" methods (ie. grab and pull),
so he has to cut it into pieces using a fancy version of a dremel tool and then chisels out the pieces. It didn't hurt (as I was numbed) but after awhile your jaw starts to cramp from holding your mouth open for so long. He made the statement that women are better at that ... no I did not ask him to elaborate,

Okay, all in all not to bad so far.
It is really difficult to drink a beer when your face is numb. Not impossible, just a bit messy.

I have the feeling it's going to be somewhat painful when the Novacaine wears off.

Yeah, I just posted this in the hopes that someone could find some humor in my agony.
No use letting perfectly good misery go to waste :toast:

The tooth cracked basically in half, and a portion was below the gum line.
It was either an extensive procedure to cap it, or rip it out.
Ripping it out was cheaper.
What I saved in dentistry will allow me to buy a ton of new computer upgrades :rockout:

No, it's the very back, lower molar tooth. I won't miss it.

Hey ! The novacaine is wearing off. I am in full control of my upper lip now.

Good news : The right side of my face only feels like I was hit with a baseball bat.
Bad news : That's not the side where the tooth was chiselled out. It's still numb.

Okay, the Novacaine wore off later in the evening last night.
Felts a lot like I took a bullet to the side of my face.
Went blind in that eye for awhile, and there was a constant ringing in my ear.
The animals would not come anywhere near me, I think I was radiating pain.
Went to bed after losing consciousness a few times and falling down.

Disclaimer : The above is pure fabrication for your potential amusement.
It wasn't too bad. I wouldn't call it pleasant, but not too bad. No drugs necessary.
Eating was kind of a bummer, but I got sufficient protein from the beer anyway.
Just a dull ache this morning.

Good to hear Kreij. Some of those "special" extractions can get really painful. Depends on how good your dentist is.
