I'm looking for a laptop, preferably under AU$1400, which has a reasonable battery life, and looks cool. It needs to be small (13 inches or smaller), as I'd use it for schoolwork and don't want to lug around a seperate bag for it.
Minimum specs:
C2D @ 1.66 GHz
Intel X3100 graphics
120 GB Hard drive
3 hours battery life
13 inch screen, or smaller
2 GB RAM

It doesn't need an optical drive, and weight doesn't matter much.
I'm thinking along the lines of an Asus U3 or something, but i'm sure that there are better or cheaper laptops out there. Don't suggest a Macbook; I don't like them, or an Acer; they look bad.
Any other suggestions are welcome, especially ones under $1000!

The EEE looks pretty cool, but I'm waiting for the '900' version to come to Australia before I consider it. With 900 MHz under the hood, it isn't that powerful.

I work on alot of laptops at work replacing HD's, invertors, backlights, motherboards, and cpus. My highest recommendation would be Toshiba. The most work I have done to them so far is replacing HD's and the occasional backlight or invertor. Here some over at newegg in your price range: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2030260032+50001259+1039323203+103980223&name=13.1%22+-+13.3%22

kenkickr, those Toshibas look nice; what kind of battery life do they get, and does Toshiba have a 9 cell battery option?
