how much cache memory on a processor is needed for a gaming computer. is 1mb ok for the amd 5000+ Black edition
or what about 2mb for the INtel e4400

its not comparable between AMD and intel.

Pretty much all AMD chips have 1MB, intel go between 1MB and 12MB. With intel, the more cache the better - a 6MB chip will perform a little faster than a 4MB chip, and so on.

^ as he said, its not relevant. a 4GHZ core 2 duo with 1MB cache is faster than a 2GHz with 12MB... theres nothing solid there.

Think of it that if two chips are at the same clock speed on intel, the one with more cache wins. If the lower cache one is clocked faster, then they'll probably match up.
