I figured it would be pretty stupid asking everything about server 2003, so instead, im wondering whether anyone knows of any good guides out there to set it all up (with the VERY basics) and give information about it all. (Looks at Dan)

I have googled but there are so many pages of crap that I decided to post here whilst I google :)

Server will only be used as a file/print server mainly, but I want to allow remote access from it at any time (because it wont have a monitor/kb/mouse attached to it) and I want to be able to access it from my comp.

Im pretty sure I can do all of that from a workgroup (correct me if I am wrong). I tried to create a domain and active directory and all that, and it just failed miserably :p.

Thx in adv :)

Simply install filezilla and apache/mysql. Easy to set up and maintain. These protocols are completely unrelated to workgroups and/or domains. In fact you can run it all on some win95 machine if it pleases you. (not recommending that :))

For remote access just check the remote desktop button in the remote panel on the my computer properties. if you start mstsc with the /console switch you'll control the main session.
