Have you checked to see if the Show Pictures option has been unchecked? Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced -> Multimedia (Check the box that reads 'Show pictures')

That's for IE at least....

unfortunatly i cant use firefox, show pictures is checked, if i get a free minute i will have the district web dev load the page in FF and see if that works. its just odd that it happened right after the update took place. pictures that are atached and pictures in signatures apear to work fine, its just site specific stuff that arent showing up.

Your connection might be slow. And the host might not be responding due to an unexpected behavior. My brother once rapidly press refresh and somehow the website ignores me and waited a freakin 30 minutes to fully load.
