Can't be done. Same can be said with the 8800GS/8800GT/GTS(G92).

it might work if you flashed the gts to a gt tho :)
but only if both were g92 cores.

That's still false. The GTS is a different revision of the G92 core.

well tbh the gts is a g80 so even flashing it won't work

Why don't you just get a 2nd G80 GTS? They probably would be on par with 2 GS's in SLi. IMO that's the most cost effective solution I see and would be better than purchasing a GT for more.

Well it was just for an experiment because I am ordering a gt for myself and selling my gts to a friend. I was going to see if SLI had any big advantages since I have never had it before.

Yeah, cause not only is it Inno3D (which is a pretty decent brand) but it also comes with GRAW2 which is right now priced at around $40 USD. Oh and if you decide to keep the stock cooler on it, its single slot. So fitting other PCI(e) cards into your system would be easy.

tbh that's the main reason I'm getting the gt because the case is pretty cramped as it is and also I'l give my friend graw 2 for his pc I'm building him because I've already played it. Could you give me an estimate on how much more marks I would get on 3dmark06 I currently get 10k with a gts 320.

In 06, I would say ~12-13k if you tweak HEAVILY! They usually average around 11.5k. But like was said before 3dMarks are not everything.

What about the GPU's that are the same model number but different memory and clock settings? Does the memory have any bearing?
Example 8800 GTS 340 MB SLI W/ 8800 GTS SSC 640 MB
Will it work?

Only with the same core e.g g80 is only compatible with other g80's. In the case of the higher memory clocks and core clocks the one with the highest speeds slows down and deactivates the extra memory to match the other gpu :)

Well I did quite a big oc for a stock cooler and oc'd the memory. Also on the GPU I couldn't go past 700mhz because it already came overclocked by EVGA its a ssc one :) so this should be interesting and your right about 3dmark not being everything ;) gods are made through gaming not 3dmark :rockout: saw that in someone's sig :D
