You tell us:
-is your PC more responsive
-does windows load faster
-do programs load faster
-do you notice less hard drive light activity
-etc

If the answer is "my PC works he same" or "some apps are slower" then it's of no real benefit. However, if you are noticing an improvement then it was well worth it.


Edit: Do this, take out 2 sticks, leaving 4 in the PC. See how windows, applications and games perform. Then add the 2 other sticks and do a comparison.
Side note: Make sure you adjust your page file according to what's recommended when changing ram.
