I have what is quite possibly a stupid question, butsince I genuinly do not know, I must ask. I have a 1997 model IBM Intellistation M Pro Desk top computer (Just acquired for $7.00 if you can belive it!) It has IBM Motherboard Model number 689819U installed, with 512mb of memory and two Intel Pentium II 300mhz Slot One processors which I have overclocked to 333mhz. My question is this- I was able to overclock the processors by setting the clock switches on the board. I was unable to find the 14.xxxxx quartz crystal that I thought was supposed to be installed on all boards. I was looking for it so I could locate the PLL Clock generator to see if I could push the board harder. Does this board even HAVE a PLL Generator? I was just wondering if it even has one since the clock speed is set by jumpers. I've never seen a board without a PLL. Now, I did run accross a crystal with a 14xxxx designation, but it was not marked 14.xxxx like normal, but rather 14xxxx and did not have any recognizable PLL clock chips anywhere near it. I am attending classes right now to learn how to fix and modify computers, and would like to know this before classes resume next week. Yeah, I know this thing is an ancient pre-historic dinosaur, but a working computer for $7.00 was just too good to pass up. I have noticed that IBM apparently made this computer for quite some time. Does anyone know where I can get a more modern PIII or possibly even PIV IBM board that will fit this case for cheap?
