So I am thinking of getting a Intel setup in the near (hopefully) future and was curious which chipsets support ATI CrossfireX with both cards/slots operating at full 16X. Since I am switching from a 790FX AMD Chipset I would like the same performance from both cards on the Intel chipset.

P35 or higher
X38 or higher
570i or higher (dunno why nvidia chipsets support xfire)

P35 DOES NOT DO 16x+16x, they do 16x + 4x! P45, X38, X48 are the only ones afaik
I would get this DFI X48 board, really cheap and does DDR2.

I was thinking (due mostly to budget) of this DFI board, although the X48 one does support higher FSB. Ram I would pull from the current AMD rig till I could get a set of 2x2gb (considering I've read 4x1gb doesn't OC well) that is Micron D9's (or any set that is know to OC well).

Thats still a great board but the X48 is only 20$ more.

True that is, which wouldn't really hurt.

Oh and if you get faster ram like 1066mhz it says it only does 800 but the Xx8's do DDR2 1066 nativly and my DFI P35 can do 1066.
