OK, I just sold a x38 board, since I switched back to Nvidia cards, and have no use for a crossfire board. So, I wanted to go back to a p35 board, but wanted something high end. I've owned 3 other p35 boards, including a DFI blood Iron, Abit p35 pro, and a Gigabyte DS3R. I've avoided ASUS for the last 3 years, after I had a terrible RMA experience with them, but I'm seriously considering this board. I'm not looking for alternative suggestions here, just thoughts on this board. Is this a good option for a high end p35 board? Anyone with experience with this board?

Its a bad option to stick with a high end p35 since it has only one PCIe16X. If you are looking for something high end get X38/X38. Or alternative P45 which also has one PCIe16x but that is a totally different story.
EDIT: What was the Asus board you were referring to? UPDATE: Lolz didn't read title. Just get the P5K-E instead and I've got to tell you this board is your friend...

No interest in a x38. I just soled one. :D It's basically a p35 with crossfire, and I have no need for crossfire. The reason I want the Black Pearl is for the 8 phase power design, which in theory will have more stable voltage, and less vdroop. The P5K-E does not have this feature.

Paulie, I could be wrong but isnt it the mobo he was doing 4.0GHz with by disabling a core?

Tigger69 had a BP and got a E6750 to 3.6 GHz 1.425 Vcore. And I found something interesting about the P5K BP. The later the batch is made the higher clocking P35 northbridge will present which makes it the best of all P35's.
