And these were the 9600GTs or 8800 GTs with something disabled? Or what exactly were these again? I remember reading something like they were rebranded something or nother.

That price is too high. You can get a 8800GT less (Although it only has 256mb). Another $30 More than the GSO and you can get an 8800GT with 512mb.
XFX 8800 GT $129

I agree. I wouldnt get that XFX tho cause the fan only spins one speed and you cant change it.

Sounds like a down clocked 8800GS to me. Oh and don't knock the 384MB, I am using that and it has all kinds of umph. Enough to play Crysis 1400x900 DX10 and be playable.

You can, it just requires a Bios upate to fix it.
Regardless Dual Slot? 140 bucks, and its the same speeds as EVGA's Superclocked 8800GS which is the same kind(8800GS Single Slot) i got from frys for 100 bucks.

So are these supposed to be more powerful or less powerful that the GTs? I would look it up, but I'm lazy.

This would be more powerful compared to "stock" 8800GS's and maybe a bit cooler with the DUAL-SLOT design, but if you compared that card to a 8800GS SUPERCLOCKED the peformance would be exactly the same.

So it's basically just Nvidia rebranding again?

Basically the 8800GS didnt get alot of spot light due the 9600GT coming out for only a little more so they need to re-name it to the "newer' 9000 series just so they can say its new gen card, for less then the GT
