Hi,
I've recently heard about G0 stepping on Intel Processors. I really don't know what they do but I've heard that it's good to have it. How do you spot it as I have a thought buying a Quad Core Q6700 and I wanna check if it has G0 stepping.
Thanks in advance!!!

Most e-tailers will advertise the new quads as G0 in item description. Intel stopped making the older B3 stepping ages ago.

Can you have a look at the attached file and tell me if my processor has or doesnt have G0 stepping?
I see a B there in the Stepping Box.
P.S. I'm kinda noob :)

If your looking at a q6700 they are all GO stepping.:toast:
q6600 will have a SLACR in the naming on the chip and box.

it'll have SLACR at the end of its producation code if its a g0
and sl9um if its a b3
for ex. this is a g0 stepping:

all q6700 are "GO" Stepping... They made the q6700 for go at the start... That is the reason why it cost $569 dollars till the new 45nm chips

Thanks a lot.
Is this valid for the Core 2 Duo as well? the "SLACR" at the end of the SN.
the SN for my c2d is: BX80557E6550SLA9X
Thanks again!

well the slacr applies to quads, but a g0 c2d would have sla9x at the end, http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SLA9X
