If it works and Intel finds out, they'll scrap Q9450.
it just raises the fsb to 400X8 3.2GHz :p from 333X8

So it doesn't mess with the CPU's strap? No unlocked FSB multiplier?

I'm pretty sure it does, it's just a BSEL mod. It's one of the few options for current generation Xeon overclocking. ie I've been using it on my 5110's and L5310's for a 1333MHz strap. Now I use it for a 1600MHz strap.
Considering it's nothing new, Intel won't scrap it.

no he says it well show up as a 1600Mhz which is 400MhzX8 will give you 3.2GHz

so it doesn't unlock the multiplier, oh well. I can't afford a q9450 right now anyway. But damn, this sure would be nice if it did.

this isn't special you have been able to do this since intel started using FSB you can pin mod almost any intel chip...
