View Full Version : Laptop Owners: Do you use the touch pad or keyboard joystick?

Just curious as to how many laptop owners use the touchpad over the joystick. I know many are annoyed by the joystick but I found it much easier after switching to using only that. Moving the mouse around the screen requires no effort at all with the joystick IMO.

Mine doesn't have a joystick, but I like touchpads more than joysticks, unless its a really really crappy touchpad.

In order of preference, external mouse, touchpad, joystick. I find the touch pad easier to use for fine movements but my current laptop doesn't have one:(.
Im pleased to report that next year I will be getting a Dell:( with a touchpad:)

I thought of putting it as an option but it's not built into the laptop. ;)

I think they've improved touchpads over the years. They used to be quite bad at first. I just like that my finger stays stationary and just slight movement can put it anywhere in the screen. Of course there are a lot of crappy joysticks too, of which they have managed to improve as well too.

Yeah, I call it the trackstick.
I really hate it on my laptop, because it sometimes screws up and causes the mouse to go crazy (fly off to the edge of the screen and get stuck there, or just creep slowly up the screen).
I use the touchpad and hope that the trackstick doesn't play up... again...
I'm almost tempted to cut the wire to it!!

Yeah, the little eraser tip sized mouse in the middle of some laptop keyboards.

I use the touchpad mostly. The eraser head sometimes starts moving the mouse, even when I am not touching it. Its the con for the eraser head. My favorite laptop mouse was a trackball, which came with my really old samsung laptop that I had.
