OK so I'm in the market for a new PSU.. My 3 ideas are the following: Corsair 1000Watt, Antec 1000Watt, or a Thermaltake 1000- 1200Watt. Any comments, suggestions, reccomendations? I would buy a PC P&C, but dont wanna spend $500 on a PSU.. lol
why do you need a new PSU ?

That Toughpower you have will run anything short of tri-SLI. If you REALLY feel the need to get a 1K psu, you can't lose with a Corsair. I still kinda miss my HX620 (Not to say I don't love my Tagan).

Really, I second Dom here, why a new PSU? I can see if its failing or you are getting crappy fsb with crap ram timings.

I'm gonna be doing a completely new system soon, and have already decided on my case and majority of my components. The only thing left in question is the PSU. I'm looking at 2x 750GB Raid-0, 1TB storage, sata dvd, 2x dual gpu gfx, heavy OCing. I basically wanted to know what I should aim for in a new psu. I really like the corsair, but I also like the thermaltakes..

You should be good with your current psu for this. That Thermaltake provides stable and continuous power. Save yourself some cash.

corsair hx1000 hands down. i wouldnt even consider another psu if this was an option. for me it would be THE option.
edit: i wouldnt trust that thermaltake in your sig to run quadfire or 2x 9800gx2 with all that stuff.

My Real Power Pro 750 is more than enough for anything that I can throw at it. It could even handle 2 2900 pro's at 870/920, numerous hard drives, sound card, fans, etc.
While Thermaltake isn't exactly known for high quality equipment, their Toughpower series is definitely an exception. If I were you, I'd wait for the 4870 and then buy 3 of those and keep your current power supply.
Even if I had a couple million $ in the bank, I wouldn't want to waste $250 on a new psu when I didn't need one.

Well considering an 8800GTX eats power like no tommorow, as well as the processor especially when OCing, my system has become unstable at speeds I used to run 24/7 no problems, and pass Orthos testing with. My power supply is going on at least 3 years old, and has been in like 4 different rigs..
