Washing a Sony 1gb MicroVault

At first I do want to say sorry if any mod thinks this should be here... But it does go under it...

As if you guys don't know I have a Max. Formula board that I had to get because of my Striker II board dieing on me... Well, I was going to update my bios from 0901 to 1201 to try and see if my other two sticks of Ballistix Tracers would post.. They light up but no posting.. :( So I went and download the latest bios.. I have a Sony 1gb Micro Vault that I bought at Target a few weeks back for 5 bucks Clearance.... It wasn't under my monitor like everything else.. SO I remember I washed cloths when I woke up at 1am.. Bad mistake... I had it still in my Pajama bottoms for when I went to someone house to help them with something... So, I washed and Dried it! lol.. Right? lol... If you know me you know I've taken 2 Sony walkman MP3 Players to the washing machine and a cell phone because of washing cloths for work at bad hours of the night...
Well, I grabbed it, looked it over, and I saw that there wasn't anything wrong with it external... So, I plugged it in, and sure enough, there was the files from my Striker II board, the files for her computer, and a few music files still in there! IT works! lol... So, I just got to say, Flash Drives FTf'nW!

Usually if something electronic gets wet, or if you spill liquid on a laptop or keyboard, power down the device and let it air dry for a day or 2. As long as it isn't in use while wet things should be ok. My sister spilled water on her laptop and after letting it dry out it still works fine.

Well, I've had keyboards and things like that get wet, but it dried out.. But with the two Walkman MP3 players, that I washed, I wouldn't of guessed this to work after wards.. they never did... I guess it has to due because of no LCD screen?? and Rebo thanks! I goof for the amuse of others! lol Ask RM!

Yeah, I formatted the drive so there shouldn't be any files that might of been corrupted on there when I put the max bios on there! I want 4gbs of Tracers in here!

i did the same thing with a sony ms pro card and a corsair flash stick, both still work.

I know your Corsairs has the cover over the drive, so I didn't know if it would do the same... never knew about the Sony one...

i had temporarily lost the little cap though, so the usb connector and therefore all the circuitry was exposed. stuff like this used to surprise me, but after the whole "washing your components in a dishwasher" thing, it doesn't really surprise me anymore.

I've also done that to my Imation stick let it dry and let the stick plunge into 99% isop alcohol and dry another day or two and viola it still worked!!

Well a kinda of Update: I formatted the drive and and put in the new Bios of the Max. Formula... It worked! I now have all four sticks of Tracers in here under vista reading all 4gbs! now if the rating system would give me that 5.8.... still 5.8 after putting in two more sticks! lmao!
