- Added "increase pwm frequency" option to fan control. this might help with fan noise but there is the risk that the the signal is smoothed out by capacitors on the card, so you end up with 0% or 100%.. this requires some testing.
- Fixed multiple "Scan for artifacts running 00:00:00" messages
- Normal users can now use ATITool and get the settings the Administrator has chosen when he ran ATITool with his account, changes to settings made by normal users are not saved.
- Could not write to log file message will no longer pop up multiple times.
- If MBM is not running, but is needed to send temp. data to it, ATITool will try to connect to MBM every 10 seconds.
- Added "Click here to change" to font display in Settings -> Temp. Monitoring

i updated the file wednesday 11am gmt to fix a bluescreen issue

could you change the way gamma control works it only seems to work on one monitor out of 2 could you at least have it specify which monitor to control?

Hello wizzard thanx for the update

IMO there is no future with the MBM thing so go on with other monitoring software

How about a plug-in for this? http://www.samurize.com to show the temps and current clocks?

Hi W1zzard,

Very nice this option "increase pwm frequency". :)
I can spin my fan very quiet. :D

Thanks.

wizzard.....you must be an Angel.....
with the new function pwm freq. the really bad Probs with the Ati4 Silecer and x800 Cards with the "klack klack klack" seems to be gone.

But one i noticed with my Ati4 Silencer....with some Speeds, the Fan Engine (dont know if only with Ati4) will give
a high "piep" Sound.... Sounds no good..
Everything above 60% gives me this piep Sound...

Edit : so far it seems to be ,that (how you Warn) at some Speeds the Fan with my Ati4 stops to zero.. i set it to 50% and the Fan stops to work!!!!!! And the Speed is show wrong!! There is 50% standing but the Fan is at 0 !!

I agree. It is very dangerous as the fan stops spinning altogether. I clocked my card to 250/250 in 2D mode, so there it's not an issue but when in 3D mode I dont want my card fried. As fine as this pwd option sounds, you should pull the beta from the server until either that is fixed or you put a really big warning somewhere.
Thanks anyway

boxleitnerb: tehre is a warning message everytime you change the option ..

as far as i understand it at the moment the pwm fan output of the temp chip is smoothed out by a few capacitors .. think of this like an averaging function .. at 50% it averages out to 0

lucas 10 has a custom built fan control on his 9600xt (article coming soon) where there are no such capacitors so its working very good for him .. what should i do now?
just removing the option is probably a bad idea

 Oh No!!! Keep this option please. :(
W1zzard, if add option to choice pwm frequency between 31, 64 and 141 (Hz).
Could solve the problem in Ati4 Silencer and other VGA coolers?

the lm63 knows only two frequencies

W1zzard, thanks for the info.

alright done some testing with my x800 pro and a silencer 4 on it.

enabled the pwm clock and started at fixed 50% and watched my fan stop spinning. Now i went up with the percentage until the fan went spinning again. @ 80% the rattling of the capacitors started again, but no spinning. Also a high beep started at this point. @ 90% my fan started spinning again with the rattling but the beep continued. I then disabled the pwm clock function and the beep dissapeared.

pwm clock option will be removed .. its only causing problems

wizzard: are you looking for another solution then the pwm-lock? Or trying to update it or making it better? Cuz that rattle is kinda annoying when your complete computer (mine) is built for silence.

not much i can do there .. the lm63 has just those two settings ..

Maybe put an option to switch back and forth between the two frequencies that the lm63 has based on fan rpm (not sure if thats monitorable) or gpu temp?

W1zzard:

Can you plz add an option in order to set custom mem timmings at windows startup?

In my opinion it will be a great add-on to this already great software.

Many tnx

Is it possible to get a copy of the beta with pwm control? I would very much like to try it to see if it helps the rattling noise from my silencer.

Btw, I have downclocked my card to 100/300 in 2d mode and set the fanspeed to 0% at temperatures below 55c, and 100% for anything above. So that in 2d mode the card is noiseless.

hungry: this should be in the file linked above

andre: yep i'm planning to integrate it into profiles, same with gamma .. priority at the moment is x800 max oc detection tho
