I think GN posts should count for one day

dude . . . if the mods allowed that - could you imagine how many spam/GN posts would actually hit the threads in just 12 hours?

I mean, we all post in there quite a bit, but if we knew we could bump the e-peen even more by accumulating extra post counts for a day :eek:

Remember when GN post count was first disabled and everyone's post count dropped? I was thinking we should re-enable it for just one day to see how many posts we have in there, and after one day, disable GN post count again to drop it back to normal levels.

How is it a waste of bandwidth? The posts are still there, wether the post count feature for GN is enabled or not. It's just changing everyone's post count for a day so they can see how many GN posts they have. For example, instead of having my 4.8k posts I'd probably have over 7k :roll:

I don't see what the big deal is about post count anyway. Should be more about the community, helping out others, and learning than seeing how big you can make your numbers.

Why would people spam if it is only for a day?
Perhaps a function should be added in your user CP that goes something like this:
Posts: <<<insert your posts here, excluding GN posts>>>
GN Posts: <<<insert # of posts you have in GN>>>
Total Posts: <<<total # of posts you have made, including GN

Of course, the post count showing under your avatar will remain as is.

I agree, with only a single demand from my side. The top 10 spammers in GN get a permanent ban. Fair enough I'd say.
