Before you get the shock of what I plan to buy, my hobby is rebuilding up old pc's and getting them in working condition. So the following stuff is very interesting for me since I've got like 10 nearly assembled pc's all with one or another thing missing right now...
The thing is that this guy (he's a local and I live on a small island where I can just drive, pay and pick up... and confront him if he cheated me somewhere :D) isn't quoting a price. He just mentions 2 lots which he wants to sell each lot as a whole. I'm interested in both lots.
Here's what he got, and my feedback on what I might need.. since I have to accept them as LOTS I made my comment as to whether I need them or not in capital letters behind the description, hope you don't mind please......
Lot 1 - Collection of Misc Used Parts and Systems
These are being sold as ONE LOT - I will not split them up. Take them all and then sell them individually it's up to you!
CTX 17 inch CRT Monitor - Works but has occasional pink tint that kicks in and goes away -- NOT NEEDED
AMD Athlon XP on Gigabyte Board with 128MB PC133 SDRAM -- NEED THE RAM DON'T KNOW IF I NEED THE PROCESSOR SINCE NO MORE DETAILS ARE GIVEN.
512MB PC133 -- DEFINITELY NEED!!!
(Qty 4) 256MB PC100 SDRAM -- DEFINITELY NEED!!!
Pentium 4 Midi Case No PSU -- DO NOT NEED.
Pentium II 350MHz on Asus Board - Slot 1 with 128MB RAM -- NEED ONLY THE RAM HERE. DON'T NEED PROCESSOR OR MOBO.
VIA VA133plus Mainboard with Pentium III 733 CPU and heatsink/fan --- NICE... I LIKE... AND NEED, BUT WHAT ABOUT RAM?!?
Slot 1 Pentium II 266MHz CPU with heatsink/fan -- ALREADY GOT A COUPLE...
Pentium III 866MHz on Asus Sever Mainboard with 768MB of RAM --- NICE, LIKE AND WANT!
4U Server Rackmount Case No PSU --- NOT REALLY IMPORTANT.
802.11b WLAN Access Point with CDs, No PSU --- NOT REALLY IMPORTANT.
3.5 Floppy Drive --- NOT REALLY IMPORTANT.

6 Network Cards --- NOT IMPORTANT AT ALL.
1 4-Port USB 1.0 PCI Card --- MIGHT BE HANDY.
Misc Cooler --- DUH?
Bag of Misc Cables ---- DUH... MIGHT BE HANDY AND HENCE USED...
Lot 2 - New and Nearly New Parts ideal for P4 Systems
Up for sale as ONE LOT are:
Brand New Boxed:
MSI Pentium 4 845E MAX Mainboard --- HAVEN'T CHECKED COMPATIBLE PROC YET, BUT MIGHT BE HANDY.
Thermalright SP-94 All Copper Cooler (Voted best P4 Heatsink) - NO FAN --- MIGHT BE HANDY, SAID MIGHT BE BECAUSE HE SAID NO FAN...
Used Items:
Soundblaster Audigy PCI Card OEM SB1934 --- CAN BE USED.
Leadtek Ti4600 A250 Ultra 128MB AGP Graphics Card --- CAN BE USED.
ATI Sapphire Radeon 9800PRO 12MB AGP Graphics Card --- typo? I think he meant 128MB? If so CAN BE USED.
TwinMos 256MB DDR RAM --- NEEDED.
I just can't decide what would be a good offer for that stuff. I mean for me it is good stuff since I got some 2 486's, 2 Pentium I's, 3 Pentium II's, one Pentium III and one Pentium IV just waiting for stuff to get powered up......... however for the large majority of guys it's just worthless junk since nowadays one can buy a barebone C2D for $200.
What do you think? I was thinking about offering him 150 Euros for both lots... that'd be like USD 195.
The thing is that where stuff is a hobby it's very difficult to set up a budget and hence is why I ask advice.
