I just started up Crysis and through out the whole introduction, the background is shaking then the next when I start a new game, the screen is flickering and there's only a little bit shown on the screen, there's squares on the screen that are shaking realy fast I mean what's going on? Is it the drivers? I think I have the 8.5 Catalyst drivers (latest?) This is my first ATi card.

It could be due to heat, try upping the fan speed and see if you get the same things happening, if they do then you may have a faulty card.

Is the latest version of Rivatuner compatible with ATI cards? I used to use it for my old 8800 GTS.

It may give an error about not recognizing the 8.5 drivers, but I used it only for fan control and it worked no problems.

Call of Duty 4 works fine without any problems. Any suggestions?

try turning off GPU scaling in CCC | DTV(DVI)4 | Attributes

In the Catalyst Control Panel?

for fan control use speedfan - it sounds like drivers but if COD is fine then i doubt it. Could be, unfortunatly, a dead card, but that doesnt explain why call of duty works . . . try reinstalling crysis? could be a bad install. Kepp us posted.

In the Catalyst Control Panel?

yeah in the Catalyst Control Panel... I found my X2 would shake the screen on certain games becasue of the resolution and I turned off the GPU scaling and it fixed the problem

Well I managed to get on Crysis then when I cranked down the resolution to 1600x1200, I was lagging and only getting about 10 FPS. This card only gets 20 FPS on high and so did my old 8800 GTS. Sorry, where abouts in the CCC?

There yah go. Also, have you patched Crysis all the way to 1.2? I have yup. I even tested Crysis with and without the patch and it still wasn't working right but I can play the game fine but it's just the introduction that's screwed. Call of Duty 4 plays perfectly ok.

I can't seem to find that section in my CCC :(

I see Welcome, Information Centre, Displays Manager, Display Options, Monitor Properties 1, 3D, Colour, Avivo, ATI Overdrive and Crossfire X.

Even on mine the intro is screwy, I think it's just crossfire playing an effect on it. CoD4 same for me i can almost max it with the Pro's.

Crysis did the same to me when I CF'd the x2's with 8.5 but it was fine with one card. I just reinstalled Crysis with the 1.2 patch & it was able to run on VH @ about 40-50fps, 1680x1050. It still dies at 1920x1200 but what doesn't

There has to be something wrong with the install somewhere, whether its Crysis, 8.5, or the x2. The only tell is that COD 4 is working fine, but it doesn't use nowhere near the shaders that Crysis use so the x2 could have a problem that's making it sputter when all its shaders are utilized. That's not too much of a common problem. The last card I had that did that was a 9800pro

I could re-install Crysis again and apply the 1.2 patch then post back results.

Yup, same results as before. It's just on the introduction though when you start then game and when I get to the main menu it's fine after that. I only seem to get about 22 FPS though which is what I used to get on my 8800 GTS. I was expecting about 30 FPS.

I have a problem with my 3870x2 as well. I just picked it up for my system and i removed my current 3870 from my system and popped the x2 in it. Powered on, fans are spinning but I see nothing on screen. Pretty sure I booted into windows as I forcefully powered it off. I pop my 3870 back in and everything is fine. What do you guys think is the problem?
