Is there a ATI Winflash that works in Vista?

If you find out, let me know. I have no floppy drive and can't seem to make a bootable cd to flash my card.

Have you tried running it using a command prompt? Run->type: cmd Then you can basically flash the card like you would with ATiFlash for DOS.

I experience a hang using 2.0.1.1 with a HD 4850 and Vista 64bit. The process will run in the task manager, however the application never comes on screen and the process can only be stopped by a manual re-boot. 2.0.0.7 seems to work just fine.

A hang is normal. It takes upto a minute for a flash to work. Sometimes the processing bar doesnt come up. Ive used it successfully on both 32bit and 64 bit Vista dozens of times.

No, that's not what I meant. The program won't show up at all, I can't even get to the part to flash it. The previous version does work.:)

Use a newer (7+) version of nero and make a boot cd,use nero's boot image on the selection box, like this.-

Just use any file you like,i put atiflash on it as you cant burn it empty.

Now boot from said disc, and when it boots to the command prompt, you can access any ntfs drive on your pc using dos.Just browse to were atiflash and your bios file is,it is better to put them in the root of a drive as it is more difficult to access folders with long names in dos.I ave used this method myself and it works pretty well.

It can also be used to delete problem files from your computer in dos mode.

Kind of old subject but fits my problem. I get a 'Runtime Error' when I try to use Winflash. Tried both the newest and 2.0.0.7

For Vista 64 - Try to reboot, get into boot menu (F8) and choose to start without that driver signing bullshit. This one helped me when i tried to flash my card with NVflash. Otherwise it can't start a driver to flash a card. ;)

Hmm. I already do that. I have ReadyDrivers Plus which automatically does that disable driver signing thing each time I reboot. =[ so thats not it.

Hmmm, i did nothing special. Just vista 64 sp1. Uninstalled my old drivers from 2900xt using DCPro. Then installed the hotfix 4800 series drivers from ati. Winflash fires right up. Dont have to do any run as admin or driver signing, anything like that. What have you changed?

Not sure I've changed anything. I just have the updates from MS and thats it. I still have my 8.6 CCC installed if that changes aynthing. i heard that it is recommended to uninstall drivers before flashing but I didnt think about it too much.
