Some forums have the option to enable message previews in mail notifications. Not only do you get a notification, but in that email you will see the text posted. This way you know if you should visit the topic or not.

Normally the adress is "no-reply@domainname.com", wich is an adress that doesn't exist. Then, when people reply, you won't get bothered.

Don't really see the point why it has to be admin@techpowerup.com ...

Open sendmessage.php with a text/html editor. I've read somewhere that you can fix that by changing a very obvious line of code.

TBH - I kinda miss the message previews; I can get a quick idea of if I feel like logging in to respond or not . . .

. . . especially with old threads that someone responds to.

It was like having a little piece of telekenesis sent right to your inbox . . . :(

I'm not versed in php, but can't you just set the "From" address of the message to the same as the "To" address so that if someone hits reply it will just send it back to themselves?

Some mail services consider this as spam.
