The wife is hard at it today. We have an annual town wide yard sale. Its amazing what you can find at these things once and a while. What is the best deal or thing you have bought at a good 'ol yard sale?

Mine was a fishing pole that an older gentleman had still in the package it was mailed to him in. He could not recall what brand or how old it was. I gave him $5 for the unopened pole. Well got it home and opened it up to find a "brand new" G'loomis 7' bait casting pole. If your a fisherman you know that G'loomis is one of the best brand of pole you can buy today. Looked it up on the net and found it listed at around $379 :p

Nice find !! You lucky dog.

I was once perusing books in a used books store and found one for $2.00
It was a first edition Robert Heinlien (if you are into sci-fi you will know its worth hundreds).

People don't know what they have. I have thousands of dollars worth of first-edition, hardcover sci-fi/fantasy books that I paid almost nothing for. :toast:

I bought a pair of book cases that date about 1890.
The dealer wanted to get them out of his shop.
I paid $600. They are worth at least $3000
I can't sell them. I have too many books, and need them. LOL
I have about 1100 hardcover editions covering sci-fi, fantasy, horror and more.

At a flea market my father found Xcelite wire clippers for $5. The particular one he found cost about $25.

I know this isn't really a yard sale thing, but this guy opened up a small shop about a month ago selling...junk. He sells all kinds of interesting things, for very low prices too.

He had a guitar autographed by Robert Plant for $150, worth thousands. I bought a near mint condition Sgt. Pepper album for $10. Has the un-cut cutouts as well.
