The title says it...
I must say with normal usage my psu fan makes the most noise, but that is not much more then a 20db fan. After that I would say my 2 seagate sata II hdd's.
With cpu at load the fan from my AC freezer 7pro can be quite noisy if I don't adjust the speed.
I don't have any case fan running at 12V, they either run at 5V or controlled by my zalman fan speed controller.
At a scale from 1 to 5 where 5 stands for an absolute silent pc I'd say my system scores a 4
1-----(50db or more
1.5---(±45db
2-----(±40db
2.5---(±35db
3-----(±30db
3.5---(±25db
4-----(±20db
4.5---(±15db
5-----(10 db or less
Condition: under idle/normal usage and about 100cm distance between you and your pc.
(specify wether you have the pc on the desk/table or under your desk/on the floor)
Look at the specs from your fans to find out the approximate noise level (db).
What is making the most noise in your pc?

Do you have all fans running at 12V?

1./ How do you measure this?
2./ Do you mean stright line sight distance, in open. Or noise at desktop when PC under desk. (The real killer for all those desktop PCs esp. shuttles is that there is NO barrier to the sound, like a desk or table)

only one's that i play with are the RAD fan's everything else is 12v ;)
i'd have to say the loudest fan's are the two PSU fan's installed for bling and the 40mm fan on the n/b is a screamer!
that's why i got headphone's and speaker's :)
for the record my PC is on top of my desk about 8" from my head

Yes actually in a straight line sight distance, in open

<---- My rig = Hoover vacuum noise.
5 case fans, cpu fan, 2 x gpu fans
Unless I am gaming. Then my rig > Hoover as both GC's are running full blast. :D

I'd have to give mine a 4. unless i'm pushing for max oc, all fans are run at reduced speed and all pwn fans are limited to barely audible levels. My Zalman 8700 runs at 45 - 55% and my temps are decent for my oc. full load cpu @3.2 tops out at 43*C, 9600Gt tops out at 39*C with accelro + t-module. two yateloon 120's, 3 hyper slim 80's and a corsair psu. I can hear my hdd's pretty clearly. I'm going to l/q it so I can get better oc with little noise.:)

I'll give mine a 4. under normal idle and web surfing, gaming a 1.
3- 120mm fans
1- Zalman 9500
1- Sapphire 3870 Toxic (ramps up and down depending on load temps)

Mine would be a 3.5
I have four 120mm fans running and the one on the side panel is the loudest(has a blue led and is the fastest out of them all). But it offers better cooling so what the hell. But thats the only really loud one. For the CPU i have a Arctic cooling freezer 7 pro which is silent. My PSU tho is dead silent.:)

i would say about 3.5 as well, and it stays on the floor so it hardly makes any noise

It's a 2 for me, it's right beside me :)

Under the desk, my PC is silent. It has a stock intel cooler, graphics card cooler and the PSU fan, nothing more.
If I put my ear against it, then I can barely hear the CPU fan.

If it wasn't for my video card fan, my pc would be completely silent. But the gpu fan is just loud enough idle to be annoying sometimes, and its considerably louder while gaming. :shadedshu

Benching/Working it hard: 1 for sure.
Normal use: 2.5
Zalman 9700 2200 rpm
4 Antec Tri-Cool Intakes 2200 rpm
One Antec Tri-Cool Exhaust 2200 rpm
40mm on my SB
All hooked up to my Zalman ZM-MFC1 Fan Controller.
And the two fans on my 3870's running at 80%

I'd rate mine a 2.5 as well - when I'm gaming probably a 2 as both cards spin to 100% and are quite loud . . . but I use headphones so I never hear anything :D
but the rest of my case fans are fairly quiet for running 12v out of the PSU

Mine's a 1. That Silverstone 110cfm fan is a noisy one. If I leave it on, I can actually hear it in my kitchen, which is one level down, and the farthest point from my stairs (the main path for noise to follow).
Thank god for headphones. lol.

id say mines maybe 2.5-3, have a few fans but all on low an hd's are audible above them,

I think mine's about a 3.5, I've got 7 AC Ryan Blackfire4 fans (3x12cm, 3x8cm, 1x9cm) running off a fan controller all on minimum voltage. The fan in my PSU is completely silent and there's a 14cm Thermaltake fan in the front cooling the HDDs which is also pretty much silent. If I had the AC Ryans running at stock it would be a 1 probably.
