im planning on getting this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814261012

It has a $20 MIR ending the 30th of this month. So the total cost after the MIR will be $150.
Should i buy it now to get the MIR or does anyone know if theses prices will drop some when those new Nvidia cards come out. Im planning on rebuilding as soon as i sell the PC i have now so that could be anytime between now and a month or two. Does anyone know of a better deal on a good GPU around the same price range or if i should wait for another gpu coming out or other price drops. thanks

I would say go for it I've been thinking about getting the exact same one, just havent wanted to get away from my awesome Toxic 3870 that clocks to 955core and 1300mem and never gets over 55c on full load...

yes but that is only the 512mb version the one i had is the 1 gig verision. do you guys think ill experience much diffence with a 512mb and a 1 gig one? i play crysis, cod4, and GRID (that new racing game). i will be using the currrent setup i have now for about a month or so untill i sell it and ill be getting an e8400, 1200mhz ram, asus p45 ich 10r mobo, so would a 512 hold me back or is it good and is a 1 gig not worth it for me?

I doubt the extra ram will make that much of a difference (Says the guy with the 1gig 2900pro) but its always nice to say you have it.

and the one i was looking at is a 8800GT is the 9600GT any better. i see the clock speeds are a bit better. i do like how there is the hdmi tho.

the 9600 also has only 64 stream processors while the 8800gt has 112? does that make a big diffence?

I think the 8800 512m is a bit faster i would say, the 9600 beats the 8800 256m though.

well first off the 8800 is a 1 gig not a 512 the 9600 is a 512

There are 256mb 8800s (Which will not outperform a 9600) and there are 512/1gig versions of the 8800 which both should beat a 9600

(Thats a COD4 benchmark, from the review of the 9600 above, look threw the review for more comparisons, the 8800 512 beats it in almost every test (It might even be every test.).)

ok that makes sense. so the 1 gig 8800 should be better.
